Plot Summary:
Ken Kaneki is a bookworm college student who meets a girl names Rize at a cafe he frequents. They're the same age and have the same interests, so they quickly become close. Little does Kaneki know that Rize is a ghoul - a kind of monster that lives by hunting and devouring human flesh.
When part of her special organ - "the red child" -
is transplanted into Kaneki, he becomes a ghoul himself,
trapped in a warped world where humans are not the top of the food chain.

Tokyo Ghoul is a decently drawn anime that’s based on an interesting premise, but it’s execution was lacking; it’s a house with a foundation but no walls. With static characters that have unmoving personalities, it’s not worth a watch unless you enjoy excessive gore. But just as Clannad: Afterstory depends on the first season to set it up, there is the chance that the entire Tokyo Ghoul series could become a masterpiece.
This final episode is so powerful in its character development, thematic strength, and the sheer heights of emotion and spectacle it achieves, that it's hard not to be satisfied with its ambitions regardless of the brutal cliffhanger.

Durarara is still a great watch; hip, original, engaging, and vastly entertaining.
